About Sounds for Sure

Sounds for Sure is a Dutch music webstore and small independent label. Next to brand new cd's we sell high quality guaranteed well-playing used cd’s and vinyl records in genres from pop to metal and everything in between. This is also the place where you might find that album that you’ve been looking for for years at a very nice price.

In the vinyl department you will mostly find used vinyl records from the 80's; for this reason we made this department directly accessible via www.80svinyl.com

In the section with new cd’s you mostly find new wave, post-punk, darkwave, dream-pop and gothic. We are specialized in those titles you won’t find in regular shops. We keep prices low by buying directly from independent labels or the artists themselves where possible.

In this way we hope to support unknown bands as well as give the listener the chance to discover new great music in those genres at very friendly cd prices .

New customer

As a new customer at Sounds for Sure you will notice that during the ordering process you will be asked to make an account. You can choose your own username and password and fill out your information. As a reminder you will get an e-mail with your log in information
The only reason why the site is suited with this option is a better user comfort. Now you only have to fill out your information once and with every eventual next order the information will appear again as soon as you are logged in. 

Don't you like to order through our order system? No problem! Click on Contact in the menu and order the items you want using our contact form. Then we will handle your order by personal e-mail contact.

Search Products
On the left panel of the site you'll find the 'Search' box. It's useful to know that when you search you better not use words like 'the' or 'and'. Examples: When you look for 'The Cure' you get a better result when you only type 'Cure'. When you look for 'And Also The Trees' you get a better result when you type 'Also Trees'.

Product Specification
At an item you will regularly find a Product Specification link. This link goes either to a webpage on the internet with more info on the album or reviews, or to a webpage where you can listen to one or more songs from the album. Certainly in case of less well-known bands we will often link to a webpage where you can listen some music, such as a MySpace page of the band.

Our CD/vinyl purchases 
Do you have cd's and/or vinyl records you don't play anymore, but that are in perfect condition? Let Sounds for Sure know by filling in the contact form. Possibly we'd like to buy them from you.

Grading of used cd's

Near Mint
Cd's get this grade when they look as if they are only opened and played once. The cd plays perfectly.

Excellent
Cd's have no more than a few small light scratches, which you can only see when you keep them in the light the right way. The cd plays perfectly. 

Very Good
The cd has some more obvious light scratches. This is the standard grading for used cd's. The cd plays perfectly.

Good
The cd shows some obvious wear, but it doesn't effect play. The cd plays perfectly.

Poor
The cd is damaged in a way it has one or more errors when played. We usually don't sell those cd's. When we do we will mention more specifically about the errors under the Information on the particular item.


Warranty:
All cd's play perfectly well, unless the condition is graded 'poor'.
If it doesn't, you can return it and you will get a full refund of the amount you paid for the particular cd and the shipping costs.

Any damage(s) and/or other deviation(s) to the sleeve and/or the booklet will be mentioned under the Information on the particular item on the site.
Jewelcases will be replaced when necessary.

Grading of used vinyl

Near Mint
This is the highest grade that I will assign to opened, handled records. The vinyl is virtually flawless, bright and shiny. A very minor, barely visible scuff or two may be permitted, but no scratches. The disc should play with no audible noise. The label is bright, clean and unmarked.

Excellent
Disc plays near perfectly, but may have minor paper scuffs that do not interfere with the sound quality. There can possibly be a hairline scratch or two but nothing that is obvious or effects play. Vinyl is bright and shiny; label is clean and unmarked.

Very Good Plus
Some visible surface wear, very minor scratches and scuffs, but minimal impact on the sound quality. Vinyl will still have good luster; labels may have minor imperfections (small labels or initials, etc.) but otherwise clean.

Very Good
Vinyl will have noticeable scratches or scuffs that cause minor surface noise, but do not overpower the music. There will be no skips. Vinyl may appear somewhat dull and grayish. Labels may have small tears, tape marks, larger writing, etc. but still easily legible. There may be wear or deformation of the spindle hole.

Good
Well-played, dull, grayish vinyl with deeper scratches and wear causing distracting surface noise (hisses, pops, cracks and other nasties). The record will still play through without any skips. Labels may be significantly defaced or damaged.

Poor
Unless the record is particularly rare,  most of the time we don't try to sell records in this condition. Usually when records are graded poor there will be major noise, surface damage, deep scratches, and skips. Attempting to listen to these discs will be painful.
On Sounds for Sure vinyl records are already graded poor when they skip only one time or keep repeating at one place while the rest of the record plays excellent! When a record is graded poor we will always do our best to describe what's wrong with it under the Information on the particular item.

Warranty:
All vinyl plays without skipping, unless the condition is graded 'poor'.
If it doesn't, you can return it and you will get a full refund of the amount you paid for the particular piece of vinyl and the shipping costs.

Any damage(s) and/or other deviation(s) to the sleeve and/or the booklet will be mentioned under the Information on the particular item on the site.
Standard white innersleeves will be replaced when necessary.
LP's always include a free plastic protection cover.

Shipment 

Your order will be shipped as soon as the full amount of your order is collected on the bank or PayPal account  of Sounds for Sure. 

Cd's are shipped in bubble protected envelopes. For larger numbers of cd's we use solid carton packages.  
Vinyl is shipped in vinyl records shipping boxes.

All prices are based on shipment by TNT Mail with the exception of 5 or more cd's and vinyl within The Netherlands which are shipped by DHL. All shipments outside of The Netherlands are standard with priority mail. Prices may differ from the listed prices depending on the weight of the item(s).
As an extra option you can choose registered mail at the delivery options during your ordering proces (+ € 4,50 ).

When you prefer insured mail you can contact Sounds for Sure by filling in the contact form with your wishes and we'll contact you about the possibilities and extra costs.

Payment 

Sounds for Sure has several payment options: bank transfer in advance, PayPal and iDEAL.

As soon as you click on Order these items you will get the opportunity to fill in and check your personal information. 

Bank transfer in advance
When you’ve finalized your order you will receive an order-confirmation in your inbox. This will usually only take a few minutes. In this confirmation e-mail there will be an overview of your order. At the bottom of this e-mail you will find the name and bank account number (for orders from outside of The Netherlands also the IBAN and BIC codes) to which you can transfer the amount.

iDEAL (only for customers within the Netherlands)
If you use online banking via ABN AMRO, Fortis, Postbank, Rabobank or SNS Bank then you can pay directly through iDEAL.
At iDEAL choose your own bank. When you’ve finalized your order you will be automatically redirected to your regular online banking-site where you can then pay the amount quick, safe and easy. All the relevant information from your purchase has already been filled in. This payment goes through MOLLIE BV.

PayPal
When you have finalized your order you will automatically be redirected to the PayPal site where you can pay the amount instantly.
